Covid-19 Information

Covid 19 Safe Practice Protocol

In order to minimise the risk of the spread of the virus within the clinic, a risk assessment has been carried out and procedures put in place:

  • All patients will be emailed a screening form the day before their appointment which needs to be completed, signed and dated and emailed back prior to coming into the clinic.  If this is not possible I will have a copy here to sign when you arrive.
  • If possible, I would ask that you take a photo of your tongue in good daylight and send it over at the same time in order to avoid me having to look into your mouth.
  • New patients – the initial consultation will be carried out via zoom or skype or telephone.
  • Please arrive on time for your appointment to ensure there is no overlap with other patients.
  • You are encouraged to come to the clinic on your own if possible, ideally avoiding public transport.
  • Please limit the items that you bring into the clinic.
  • Please wear a mask before entering the clinic (a simple washable is ok).  If you do not have a mask I can provide one.  Please note the correct way to put on a mask. Details of the government guidance on both of these matters may be found here:
  • 15-30 minute intervals are in place between appointments to accommodate extra cleaning and to avoid overlap of patients. All surfaces (i.e. couch, door handles, switches, bathroom facilities, footstool and chairs) which may have been in contact with a patient will be disinfected between each patient.
  • The windows will be open to vent the air between every client.
  • All blankets/towels are single use and washed at 60° after use as in line with the government guidelines.
  • At the end of each day floors and any other surfaces will also be cleaned and waste disposed of appropriately.
  • Please wait outside the clinic door for me to come and greet you.  I will also see you out.
  • You’ll be asked to wash your hands or use hand gel on entering the clinic.
  • Tissues will be available in the event that you need to cough or sneeze and should then be disposed of in my clinical bin and you will be asked to wash/sanitise your hands afterwards.
  • I will also be wearing a (clinical) mask and potentially other PPE depending on guidance.
  • My usual standards of handwashing/sanitising as per the BAcC guidelines will be adhered to.
  • You must contact me if you develop virus symptoms as per the government guidelines or have a confirmed diagnosis within 14 days of leaving my practice.  Track and Trace protocols can then be actioned.
